Still prefer Garmin or Magellan.

We use HP for a lot of devices in the company, but when it comes to Navigation, they still lack a lot of what the other competitors have ... accuracy and ease of use. Althought the iPAQ 310 is full of features at a price you can't touch with others with similar features, the main point, being navigation and route calculation is seriously lacking in this unit.

The interface is actually very detailed and pretty. Learning to use the unit didn't prove to be very cumbersome and mostly straightforward.

If HP can get software that had much better route calculations out of the box, it would sure be a winner.

Regarding what Allan said, there is nothing wrong with route recalculation, as long as "Off-route recalculation" is set to "Automatic" in settings. Route recalculations on the 310 is faster than any Garmin or Magellan I've ever tested.
